Facebook Marketing

Today, facebook is arguably the most powerful and popular social networking site in the world. With more than 70% of it’s users coming from the United States, there is not a single good reason for you and your business to not be involved with facebook. So, how many people use facebook? As of March 2015, there is a reported 1.2 billion members on facebook. That is a truly phenomenal number.

So, how can facebook help my business? First, you need to create your facebook business page. Make sure your page is engaging and to the point. When people search for whatever it is that you’re selling or promoting, you need to grab their attention very quickly. The University of Missouri found that users on a webpage spend just 2.6 seconds scanning a website and an incredible 180 milliseconds fixating on one area. Think about how quickly you gaze at a site to find relevant information. What does this mean? It means that your posts or titles need to be short, eye catching and to the point.

Here’s an example, let’s say that you were promoting a book that taught people how to gain more followers on Twitter, your title should be something like, “Get More Twitter Followers”. If a user is interested in growing their twitter base, they’re most likely going to click that link or read that post. Remember though, you need to capture them once you land them. Chances are, that user is going to continue on with their life and never look at your facebook page again.

That brings me to my next point – Use facebook to take the user to your website.

Once a user actually visits your website, they’re much more likely to browse around your site, which gives you the obvious: the ability to make a sale. If your website is convincing, truthful, meaningful and attractive to the buyer, your chances of making a sale sky rocket. This is why having a clean and simple website are crucial to your business.

Let’s talk a little bit about how you should use your facebook page. First off, you need to complete your facebook page, 100% of it. Make sure you have your business logo there, your business web address, your business hours (if your business has open hours) and contact information. Next, start making simple post that literally just put content on your website. When someone visits your facebook page, they’re not going to stick around if there’s only one post. If you have a blog, start making summaries of your blogs and posting them to your facebook page. Remember, you need to grab the users attention. If you want to take the slow route, by all means, go for it. You should be posting at least 3 times a day to your facebook page, though. Users want to your engagement. If they like your page or follow you, it’s because they agree with your business or they simply want to know more about your business. Once you build a decent following, start using these new followers as your leads. Don’t bombard them and don’t ever take advantage of their privacy. A simple message won’t hurt though. Keep it short and simple.

Your page needs to be about your business and nothing else. Don’t post your feelings or how your day is going. This isn’t about you, it’s about your business, that is, unless of course your business is about you. If you’re business is about fashion, post about fashion, if it’s about sports, post about sports. Remember, the end game is for them to land on your site so they need to like you and they need to trust you. If you’re posting about video games and your business is about books, the user will immediately leave your page once they realize your business is not what they’re looking for. It’s about targeted visitors, even if just a few, targeted visitors are much more likely to buy from you.

To summarize, is facebook important to your business? Yes. With over 70% of it’s users coming from the United States, these are some of the best visitors you can have. Make sure your page is completed and looks good. Keep your post titles short and to the point. Link your page to your posts. Most important, stay relevant and engage with your users and facebook can become an amazing traffic source for your business.

Planning Your Success

Becoming an entrepreneur is an exciting adventure that will surely have ups and downs, but be well worth the effort, should you be a leader in your area. When you decide to “go your own way”, it’s important to remember these keys to success:

Commitment

Becoming an entrepreneur requires heavy commitment. In fact, aside from your family, your business needs to be your number 1 priority. Get excited about working 12 hour days and getting your business moving quickly. There is a lot to do and without your full commitment, your business will struggle to survive. Remember, when you’re not working, your competition is.

Planning

Treat your new business like a real job. Schedule breaks, lunches and a time to be off. Plan on working long hours? Put it in your calendar. Make use of today’s technology and free applications that help you succeed every day. At the end of every day, go over your schedule for tomorrow.

Obey your schedule! If you’ve scheduled yourself to write articles from 10-12 tomorrow, start writing at 10 and stop at 12. Move on to your next event and schedule whatever you didn’t finish for tomorrow. If you successfully follow your schedule, you will accomplish so much and at the end of every week, you’ll see all the progress you’ve made.

Setting Goals and Deadlines

You need to set project goals and dates that they need to be completed by. Figure out how much time it will take to complete the project and divide that total into hours you can work on it each day. If you assume building a new website will take you 100 hours and you’re going to spend 3 hours a day on it, schedule your completion date 33 days out and schedule 3 hours of work for 33 days devoted to the project.

Exercise

Being active will allow better blood flow to your brain and also relieve and help prevent a lot of stress that you may have about your business. It’s a very good cool down time for you and you will find that a lot of solutions and ideas come to your mind while working out. Living a healthy lifestyle is a very important key to growing a successful online business.

Information Overload – Starting a Business Online

It’s easy to want to start a business online, it’s much more difficult to make that a reality. Today, creating a source of income online is absolutely essential if you’re looking for financial freedom and financial stability. Having multiple sources of income is so incredibly important in your journey to building wealth. Starting a business online gives you limitless opportunities to create as many sources of income as you can possibly imagine – literally.

When you first decide to take the plunge and venture off into the world of making money online, it can be such a daunting task. There is SO MUCH information out there and it’s so easy to become confused and absolutely overwhelmed. Don’t make the common mistake that so many people do when they try to start their journey online – overload yourself with too much information. The most difficult part of starting a business online, is finding your niche.

It is important to not dive into a category that is completely oversaturated, unless you have the capital to establish yourself and start to take some of that traffic from your competition. Your niche is important because you will never compete with big stores like target, wal-mart, amazon, etc. – and you don’t need to.

The big stores have it all, so the good thing is, you’re not competing with them. Let’s say you are selling kayaks online, you’re not really competing with Wal-Mart, you’re main competition is going to be another site that specifically focuses on selling kayaks. Your goal is to out rank them in search engines. When you start competing with your competition for search engine rankings, you’ll start to see your site earning free traffic. How? When people search on a search engine, the search engine pulls up the most relevant information to the user. This is done in a fairly complex way, but more or less, the engine is going to find what is popular, what has the most content the user is looking for, security, and a few more things (those are the big ones).

Over time, with consistency, you will build more and more content for your website. When you do that and share your site on social media and really begin to bring in visitors, your sites rankings will begin to rise. This is a slow process and you shouldn’t expect to see results for 3-6 months, this can be sped up with cash flow, which will be discussed at a later time.

To wrap it up, when you decide to build your site, to make money online, to start a business online, create multiple streams of income online, however you want to word it, do not get distracted. Do not let yourself get lost in the noise. Find your niche, buy your domain, build your website, create a following online through social media with GOOD content on your website, engage with your audience, and build a platform.

That is the key to building a successful business online. It will not ever happen overnight, it takes a lot of time, energy, effort, strength and if you’re really serious, money. If anyone tries to tell you that you don’t need to invest a dime into your site, they’re lying to you. Yes, you can start for close to nothing, but if you want your business to thrive online, then you need to funnel cash into your site. Once you begin earning, it so vitally important to invest your earnings back into your site before ever taking a dime out for yourself. Slow and steady DOES win the race in the online money making business.
